American Embassy Reunion

On July 15th two representatives of American Embassy visited Education Faculty with the purpose of inform all the students about the scolarships that United States Government offers. This delegation represented by Antonios Louloudakis and Angel Garcìa talked for almost an hour about all the oportunities that any student can take to study on the USA. The talked about AVAA which is an organization who helps Venezuelan students to study on the USA and ILEP which is an organization who helps secondary english teachers who had never the chance to go to the USA and improved their english and teaching skills and also talked about LASPAU which is an organization that has a lot of scolarships to offer to everyone . This scolarships can be take by anyone who wants to study abroad, except for Medicine because laws in the United States regarding Medicine Practice are different than the ones that we had here in Venezuela. They gave us the chance to take a professor who works in the USA to help us in our careers and master degrees. This is our chance to make us better professionals, the 2 things you need to have is EXCELENT grades and the will to do it. Expomencion (2-2009)

This month as in each term, all mention had the chance to show to the new students in Education Faculty the oportunities that each one of them offers to education students. This time many of the new students of English mention helped on the organization of this event. In this event each mention can show plays, choreographies, art, folk representaions, etc. This time our department presented a choreography to everyone who wanted to follow. The audience picked a winner and this person won a couple of books to its personal collection and to get better in English language. On this oportunity we had the second place about how well organize we were and how many folk representations we made. On first place came Primary Education and Art. Next time we will have more surprises for all the new students and for them to join us into this great world of languages.

UK Challenge 2009 Mèrida- Venezuela

Last June, a group of english students of Carabobo University had the chance to go to Mèrida and compete against other Universities in this competition. This challenge is about testing your knowledge about British Culture. This is how it works, this organization send you a lot of questions regarding the British Culture, you and your group has to search for the answers and wait until the competion to answer all the question correctly. There might send you more than 1000 questions of course you won't know which question they will ask you. Our students won the 4th place in the challengue; Coro University was the winner of the contest they won a certificate, books and other things. But the most important thing that each group won was the chance to share time and experiences with students from other parts of the country. We will take this challenge again next year in Coro.
